OWNERSHIP: Clarification

Dear Subscribers to the Economics of Ownership Group,

All existing COG Groups, with the exception of this one, have a named
moderator,
who is responsible for clarifying and monitoring acceptable conduct.

In 2001, when the hostility in this discussion provoked calls for ousting
participants,
we offered the opportunity for participants to create an alternative group
with a
moderator who would set and enforce rules. The group chose Richard Stutsman
and the group was called Economics of Empowerment.

See Richard's introductory message of 9/13/01:
http://cog.kent.edu/archives/empowerment/msg00000.html

By reviewing the archive for that group,
http://cog.kent.edu/archives/empowerment/index.html
it is clear that only a few members took advantage of the opportunity.

By reviewing the archive for the Ownership group,
http://cog.kent.edu/archives/ownership/index.html it is clear that many
participants chose to continue in this un-moderated setting.

The opportunity to move this discussion to the Economics of Empowerment
list is still
available. As four years have gone by, I suspect you will need to enlist a
new moderator
to replace Richard Stutsman. The moderator can be given the ability to
review and
approve all messages before they are posted, if they are willing to take on
that task.

Just let me know if I can assist in making this happen.

Sincerely,

Dan Bell
