RE: HOMESTEAD: Baby Bonds

Hi Dave and other Homesteaders I think the idea of some kind of upfront  funding for the newly born has a lot of merit. However 500 Dollars, Pounds or whatever is just a drop in the bucket. I can  attest to that as the parent of four sons  my wife and I raised in the 60's through the mid 80's in America. How is this scheme differen that the tax break two of my sons got on their children, as a result of the Bush tas reduction act in 2003.

This is kind of silly, but wwhen I was young OI imagined that evferyone in the States at least shouild have a million dollars deposited in their account. When they were broke they would need to go to work. There would be no inheritqnce pass down. That money would be used to fund the cost. Keeping traack of what ws spent would have been difficult. Now a UPC code on the forehead or a hidden part could easily track what was spent.

Again more seriously, it seems only fair that someone be able to start out with some kind of money in their acclunt so to speak. By the way Dave Sophie would not have qualified for the Bush tax refund, because she was born in the same year as our twin grandchildren. Don Ward
