[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index] Real Time Chat is on for Tues. Jan. 25 5:00 p.m. EST
Dear Homesteaders:
We are agreed to have an on-line, real time chat at 5:00 p.m. on Jan.25.
At present it is to be organized as a keyboard chat. I have asked our
technical person what we might be able to do to make it a voice chat,
perhaps even using telephones.
Regarding the agenda, I am open to your suggestions. I would like to see
us cover the following:
1) An explanation from Bob Stumberg of his critique of SQPQ and how he
would change SQPQ to be useful.
2) Proposals of a structured agenda to review the policy ideas each of
us
favors. I don't propose that we review all the proposals during this
meeting. Rather, that we come up with a system for reviewing ideas using a
strategic planning format. I would like us to aim for a productive meeting
in Chicago in April. The outcome of that meeting would be a research and
development agenda for COG on new policy ideas. The strategic planning
format includes initial brainstorming (which we are doing in a rather
random way now in the discussion group). The brainstorming is followed by
looking at the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats posed by
each idea. The purpose of this process is to provide the COG Executive
Committee, staff and participants with our view on ideas and projects we
think COG should pursue via research and experimentation. Individuals
proposing specific ideas would be the best equipped to lead the session(s)
on his/ her ideas.
3) Briefly list the variety of ideas we are considering so far,
particularly any I missed in my summary of the Homestead discussions so far.
4) Discuss means of increasing participation in the Homestead discussion.
