[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index] Re: One World.
Thank you, Norm, for including me in this correspondence.
As you , and even Norman Bailey, know of my heavy involvement
for many years in the field of human justice, surely the real
objective.
Unfortunately all roads do not lead to Rome. To achieve policies to
implement the necessary changes requires considerable educational
advances, first in the political field. The political party system has
become a sacred monopoly. Money rules, bringing home the
bacon, is all that matters; 'to those that have will be given and
....'
Voting systems are precluded from education, at all levels [except OZ ]
John Kenneth Galbraith broke my heart two years ago when he said
his main desire now was to maintain his friendship with other
economists, so he was giving up his support of the unpopular
Henry George's site value rating. Now at last gaining ground.
A senior professor in the same college as Keynes, was Charles R.
Fay, who wrote in 1913 "Copartnership in Industry" published by
the University Press and G P Putnam's Sons, New York. This tells the
story of the investigations into industrial unrest, and the conclusions
of an International Conference of the Ministries of Labor in Paris, 110
years ago, that the best form of organization of human beings was
copartnership: sharing in profits and management. Fay also supported
Henry George, and although greatly admired by Keynes, was largely
ignored by managements. They only latched on to ESOPs to share
themselves in tax advantages, never sharing management, except in
the rarest of cases, each fortunately recorded by the National Center
for Employee Ownership.
My own personal efforts are now directed in this field, to
separating labor and management costs, per unit of production .
The latter to include the expenditure on replacing employees at all
levels, who leave; either management policy or recruitment faults.
However my main concentration is on Peace through a Democratic
UN, replacing territorial wars and armed forces with Peace Corps
backing enforceable international laws. We attended the Hague Peace
Appeal, celebrating the centennial of appeals, and are now striving
to demand action. This involves those in the world who see no
future for their grand children in current territorial war policies,
nominating and electing, by universal preferential vote, some
13 volunteer trustees for, expenses only, one ten year term stint.
These would be people with demonstrated deep concern for
humanity, surpassing territorial or religious ties, acting like a
Shadow Cabinet or supervisory board.
"Comfort the afflicted and afflict the comfortable with enlightenment".
