Norm:
The Social Security System is one of
the most successful government programs there is. The problem is that the
Congress uses the SS surpluses to hide the real figures in the budget that
are apparent when SS funds are separated.
I think that once the single tax proposal
is in place we could do away with many of the programs that overlap each
other and replace them with a single simplified system that does away with
the costs of bureaucracies to administer. An alternative to Social Security
would be to replace it with a guaranteed annual income to everybody. This
one act could replace the following: Social Security, Welfare, Unemployment
Compensation, Workers Compensation, Government retirement, and maybe others.
