The Federal Reserve notes as well as all the other money real or "fiat" has no intrinsic value all of it in the words of the FED themselves is that they are I.O.U.s However, they have been declared legal tender by the government so they must be accepted in payment of debts the only thing that backs them is faith in the system. From my observation the System looks pretty shaky about now. Paul
