Why assume that the Tobin Tax is a good idea?  If an informed society
can create money for sustainable growth linked to broad-based ownership,
why add friction to that process?

Because at the moment Tobin Taxes are much better known than the Fed
proposal, and is probably a bit closer to being implementable, and
taking a positive step which may eventually become obsolete is
preferrable to standing in place.
