Re: Intro

Dear Umesh Gala,

I like the name of your group.  Besides my voluntary work with the Center for Economic and Social Justice, I am managing director of Equity Expansion International, Inc., which implements the concepts advanced by the center.

Please visit the CESJ web site by clicking on   CESJ Web Site Map
You will also find useful in your work my papers on privatization by clicking on  An Illustrated Guide for Statesmen: A Two-Pronged Strategy for Implementing ESOP Privatizations By Norman G. Kurland  and  ESOPs in Privatization by Norman G. Kurland
You should also read some of our papers on the "third way" and our paper on Value-Based Management, which offers an advanced management system for building an ownership culture within ESOP firms.  (Click on  Value-Based Management: A System for Building an Ownership Culture - Presented at the ESOP Association. )

I hope that these writings will help you in your work.

Sincerely yours,

Dear COG Members,

I have also joined the Privatisation group and would like to introduce myself.

I am a practicising Stock Plan Provider, director in Paradigm ESOP
Consultants P. Ltd. , one of India's first few firms set up with a view to
implement employee ownership.

Employee Ownership in India in a nascent stage. However there is tremendous
interest at present in Stock Options. Additionally the Government of India
has initiated very strong moves to privatise a large number of state run
enterprises. The present efforts at privatisation have met limited success.
We are convinced that employee ownership in privatisation can be a
significant factor and are therefore looking at ways how employee ownership
can be made an integral part of the privatisation efforts in India.

I expect to learn some ideas that we can carry home in our effort to
integrate EO in privatisation in our country.

Umesh Gala.
