Re: Fw: EOnation: Unions with EO experience

Hello Mr. Yates,

Please include the Ownership Union (OUR), which to my knowledge is the
only labor/stakeholder union in the world that has formed under the
premise of broadening access to capital and productive capital assets
by employees through alliances with corporate customers and
stockholders. We set up shop in 2002 and continue our solicitation of
corporate constituents, with emphasis on employees, who, of course, are
the major creators of wealth in any enterprise. OUR members recognize
that technology is replacing human labor, so workers need to at least
co-own their corporate capital assets to ensure a livable income while
they work less.

Regards,
Steve Nieman, President of the Ownership Union
Richard D. Foley, Chairman of the Ownership Union

Dear Friends,

It's been a while since we corresponded, but I'm hoping for your help
now.
John and I are putting together a little handbook on employee ownership
for
the ILO, and it would be nice to include a partial list of unions that
have
employee-owner members or workers' cooperative members. Practitioners
like
to get together and exchange experiences directly, so we could
facilitate
that with this list. The list doesn't have to be complete -- In my
mind,
having wide geographic coverage is more important than getting every
union
listed.

Here's my list so far from the U.S.
Aluminum, Brick and Glass Workers International Union (ABGW) now merged
with USWA; Association of Airline Pilots of America (ALPA - United
Airlines), Atlantic Communication and Technical Workers' Union (ACTWU);
Graphic Communications International Union (GCIU) Independent Steel
Workers;
(independent union at Weirton); International Brotherhood of Electrical
Workers (IBEW),; International Brotherhood of Teamsters; International
Union of Electronic, Electrical, Salaried, Machine and Furniture
Workers-Communications Workers of America. (IUE-CWA) International
Association of Machinists (IAM -United Airlines), International Union of
Operating Engineers; Sprinkler Fitters Local 669 (many branches of this
union in many states) in United Association of Journeymen Plumbers, Gas
Fitters, Steam Fitters and Steam Fitters; United Auto Workers (UAW)
(Chrysler), United Food and Commercial Workers Union (UFCWU - O&O
grocery
stores in Philadelphia, Rath Packing Co.); United Steelworkers !
(USWA - numerous)

Can you help me -- especially with unions in other countries? And any
additions to my U.S. list are very welcome.

Thanks for any help you can give. Jacquelyn
