EOnation: The prospects for collective ownership and EO

Dear friends, Juan Guillermo Espinosa reported at the conference in WDC that 
his sources have conluded that collective ownership of enterprises is 
preferable to individual employee share ownership in Chile.  The reason he 
gave: employment varies too much for ownership to rest with individuals. Does 
the idea seem practical?  Does the reason make sense?  Are there other 
arguments pro and con?  If it is a good idea, are there especially desirable 
structures for this that we haven't already discussed in our papers and 
exchanges?
