[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index] EOnation: Introduction to Jacquelyn Yates
Hello everybody. I'm a new participant in the "national" discussion group. I've been interested in work and workers ever since I did my dissertation on worker satisfaction and its impact on political behavior at the University of Pittsburgh, completed way back in 1981. I'm on the faculty at Kent State's Salem Regional Campus, teaching political science and algebra (my hobby). With John Logue, Karen Thomas and Jennifer Maxwell, I've just finished a book reporting on an extensive survey of employee-owned firms in Ohio. I did most of the number-crunching for all the authors, and wrote some chapters of the book myself. I'm very interested in finding out what countries are doing with ownership of wealth. The ability of humans to invent ways of conceptualizing and organizing their lives (that I would never think of on my own) is a constant source of astonishment and delight to me. I'll be reading all your exchanges over the weekend, and I look forward to working with the matrix, as soon as I can get it to download successfully into Excel. I'm hoping to pull your ideas together into a paper for the COG. Cheerio.
