28 years teaching and researching for the trade union and labour movement at UWIC. Over the last 4 years have, together with colleagues at UWIC and the Management Centre at Kings College London, started to research the role of worker cooperatives, secondary cooperatives and the social economy. Specific research projects at the moment relate to 6 year experience of Tower Colliery - a worker cooperative employing 400 in South Wales - and cooperative development with young people in Cardiff in performing arts. Papers on Tower are now being presented to conferences and the other projected should be completed by December 2001.
